Setting up Flickr on YuMe
It’s about time I resumed blogging via mobile again, since I’ve been bitten by the mobile bug once again.
This gratuitous photo is of the resident neighbourhood cat that I will miss sorely when I move later this month.
[Post-post edit: oooh, it doesn't look too bad. Might need a little html tweaking [...]

Singapore needs to get on the QR Code bandwagon pronto!

The QR Code is essentially a 2D barcode that looks like this:

The code for this blog, YuMe.
The nifty image above contains the url for this blog. You can pretty much store anything on it… urls, text, contact details, etc. Don’t ask me how it’s encoded or decoded though as I really have no idea. You [...]

Into the new semester with Firefox 3

Well, it comes as no surprise for those of you familiar with the school system here in Singapore. It’s the last day of the holidays and while I feel some lingering need to prolong it, I’d much rather get my much-needed rest.
So much for blogging more during the holidays. Heh.
The brief break from the kids [...]

I… can give you Gaaaaatsbyyyyy…

I’ve been working on another post the past two weeks, but that has barely made it past a few lines, so in the meantime, I’ll wax lyrical on my latest obsession, Kimura Takuya.
Rather, Kimura Takuya in cheesy Gatsby ads.
Let’s put it this way, I don’t really know who Kimura Takuya is or what he does [...]

Finally! Time to blog…

Well, that was a short long weekend. And I still don’t have much time to blog. I suppose I was plying myself with the anime La Corda D’Oro while marking half-heartedly and really couldn’t be bothered to update. I’d complain about a lack of readership but who can quite possibly blame the readers for not prancing [...]

Yoghurt drinks and caramel

I’ve always been fascinated by Japanese drinks and sweets, quite likely due to my attraction to gorgeous packaging. Nonetheless, some Japanese do have funky taste buds (e.g. dango, natto) and I wanted to try something different from the typical Singaporean diet.
So this time, I tried a natural flavoured yohurt drink, aptly named OHAYO オハヨー, literally meaning “good [...]

Mooooving moooooving

Well, it seems that my flat has been sold and we’re moving to another part of the same housing estate. It’s both good and bad. I don’t mind the new environment and the convenience of the local hawker centre in the vicinity where we’re looking to get a new place. However, I do mind the [...]

Mac is back, anime included!

There is nothing I love more than my gorgeous shiny white mac, but I’ve been off it for more than a month (maybe even two, horrors!) since my hard drive failed some time ago. Obviously, I’ve been lazy or else I could’ve gotten it back within a week if I’d bothered to troop down to [...]

Brahms Symphony No.1 in C minor, Op.68

… was completely and utterly brilliant!
I watched In the Shadow of Beethoven by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, featuring conductor Claus Peter Flor, Zhang Manchin on the viola and Ma Yue on the clarinet.
While I thoroughly enjoyed Wagner’s Tannhauser: Overture and Bacchanale (Paris version) and Bruch’s Concerto for Clarinet and Viola in E minor, Op. 88, [...]

Identifying with Sergei Rachmaninov

Rachmaninov has probably got to be one of the greatest recent composers of all time. I don’t know what it is about his music, but for some reason his orchestral arrangements call to me.
My favourite: Piano Concerto #2 in C minor Op.18 1st Movement. This piano concerto was written between 1900 and 1901 and is [...]
